New York Notes
DAVID AND ERIN'S WEDDING WHEW!

It was so good to see Adam and Abbey on their return from NJ for the Meyer's wedding. I know that the Meyers were glad to see them at the church and the reception, too. It was an awful hot and humid day. Like Mr. Meyer said it was the kind of day where you were sweating in your underware in the air conditioning, and that was before the 3 other layers that you had to put on (esp. if you were the father of the bridegroom). The church was really hot and humid...it was amazing that no one fainted...but it really didn't get to me until the church was emptying and everyone was standing at the back of the church because the receiving line slowed up the departures. Then the heat really hit me. Upon Abbey's insistence we stopped at Abbott's for custard before heading home to await the reception. The frozen custard did hit the spot (as did the champagne and cheese that we snacked on before heading to Lake Shore Country Club). Also, after just the church portion of the day, Abbey learned never to buy shoes without trying them on...but they did look great with the Ralph Lauren dress that she managed to find for $10!!! Unreal! That has to be one of the perks to living in NJ and having a Lohmann's to shop at.

The reception was really neat! The bar was open all night long which made Adam, Abbey and Al happy! Everyone was having a grand time. The pictures accompanying Abbey's blog of the event seem to record that fact. The food and cake were scrumptious and the music was good, if not somewhat predictable...Sweet Caroline...the Penn State version not the more raucous Michigan State version! The evening and weekend flew by and before we knew it we were waving goodbye to Adam and Abbey on their return to NJ! We will be seeing them at Watkins Glen in a month, though, so that won't be too bad. Just wish they were closer than they are for quick trips to visit. Well, so much for now! More blogging on our return from CALIFORNIA!
